2024 Gift Allowance. A married couple filing jointly can double this amount and gift individuals $36,000 apiece in 2024. The annual gift tax exclusion level will increase from $17,000 per person in 2023 to $18,000 per person in 2024, in tandem with the significant adjustments in the lifetime exemption.
For 2024, the annual gift tax limit is $18,000. The current tax year’s exemption is used first before bringing forward the previous year’s unused allowance.
